“There is nothing else delivered locally like these programmes. With the amazing support from SWIFT these programmes are ninety percent funded and subsidised”
Firestation are seeking participants for Training Programmes South Waikato to help launch, grow and scale businesses and social enterprises.
Up to 20 participants will receive funding from the South Waikato Investment Fund to cover 90% of the course costs. This is the second time the programmes have been funded, with the first group of participants having graduated in March.
Programme director Darren McGarvie says he is looking forward to running the programmes again in the South Waikato.
“It is great to be able to run another round of programmes for South Waikato businesses. This time we are really excited to have our medium business programme as part of the offering.”
“This means our programmes in Tokoroa cater to all ages and stages of business, from you have an idea for a business through to you’re running an established successful business but want to grow it even further.”
The three programmes open for applications are Activate for people who have an idea for a new business; Incubate for smaller, newer businesses; and Accelerate for established medium size businesses.
All programmes include a mix of group training and one-on-one business coaching. All sessions focus on execution and implementation for long-term success.
“We have had more than 140 organisations through our programmes in Rotorua, Taupo, Kawerau and South Waikato. Feedback across the board is fantastic from our graduates.”
“The business skills learnt through the programme are really important, but another valuable aspect is meeting other likeminded people with organisations at similar stages. Business ownership can sometimes be lonely and developing support networks is important for long term success.”
“We find our participants support each other, learn from each other and help each other,” says McGarvie.
Applications are now open with the programmes starting in July. Find out more information on South Waikato Business Training Programmes.
